Full Stack Log Home Addition using e-log Log Siding

This is really a pretty amazing story.  Pictures are required to show the beauty of e-log matching up with an existing full stack log home. 

The home owner in the Garland resort, one of the premier Northern Michigan golf course communities has an existing full stack log home.   They wanted to add an addition and did not want to build with full stack logs again if at all possible.  Pine River's e-log was evaluated and everyone is pleased that the e-log is a perfect match.  A combination of 12" and 14" e-logs were used on the addition along with round vertical corners.  You can see by looking at the pictures below that the e-log matches the stack height perfectly and provides a very realistic full stack log look.  The beauty of using standard construction techniques with e-log log siding provides the log home owner the look they wanted at an affordable price and without the natural issues that come with a full stack log.

You can see that the project was a work in process throughout the winter months in Northern Michigan. The primer coating on the e-log protects the wood during this time until the weather is warm and dry enough to caulk and apply the two coats of color stain and the clear top coat. The builder did a great job on this project, congratulations from the Pine River staff on a job well done!
