Resort Cabin Remodel

This is a single room resort cabin that needed a makeover. The owner was looking for a quick way to improve the look and energy efficiency of this little cabin. So the “e-log” was the obvious choice due to its easy installation and the additional insulation R- factor. It took less then two days to complete the project and the difference in its look is tremendous. The transformation from a simple run of the mill little cabin into a ‘log cabin’ is amazing. Many visitors that come have commented they couldn’t tell the difference between the “real” log of the vertical corners and the horizontally applied “e-log”. That’s exactly what the owner wanted. He didn’t want a log siding look, he wanted a log look and that’s exactly what the “e-log” gives.

A very interesting observation was made by one of the workers on the job. The 2 days that it took to complete the job were very warm, in the 80’s. As is typical in Northern Michigan , the temperature plummeted and was a high of 50 the next day. Around noon on this cold day, the worker noticed a significant amount of condensation on the windows in the cabin so he went in. What he experienced was amazing. The heat in the cabin was not on, but the temperature inside was still over 70 degrees. This proved to him that the insulation factor in the “e-log” really makes the difference.

As energy costs continue to rise, the energy efficiency of the “e-log” will provide a continuous payback whole providing a beautiful and authentic log look siding for your home or business.
